Polygons and Irregular Polygons

 

Today we have been learning about polygons and non polygons and their differences. They are easy to sort  by straight lines and there are no curves, they can not be 3D. They are only 2D. Polygons do not have intersecting lines, they can not have open lines in them as well. Polygons are named according to the number of sides they have, seen pic below. Poly means 'many' and 'gon' means sides.

We have also been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. The difference being width and length(2D) and length, width and height(3D).
